Climber helps climberIn today’s fast paced, rapidly changing post-pandemic world, even the most experienced leaders struggle to maintain a balance of excitement, effectiveness, and equanimity in their both personal and professional lives, let alone keep their employees engaged and productive. Recent data surveys show that 70 percent of workers want to leave their jobs, and 80 percent of leaders don’t know how to reduce employee burnout. Facing unending waves of stress, juggling competing priorities and responsibilities, grappling with high-stakes decisions, and navigating complex interpersonal and political conflicts, it’s easy to fall into unproductive, unhealthy patterns. These can lead to fatigue, burn-out, and loss of health, money, relationships, or jobs. This reverberates through their organizations, lowering staff engagement and creating a vicious cycle of poor leadership, low motivation, worse performance, less money, more cuts, more stress, worse performance, etc.

Fortunately, we have the evidence-based knowledge, experience, and methods from a range of disciplines to dramatically improve our individual and collective experience, behavior, and outcomes at work and at home. Unfortunately, most of this knowledge still isn’t widely taught in school or even universities. Leaders and organizations that thrive commit the resources to acquire and integrate this knowledge, often from specialized leadership coaches and organizational consultants who produce real results through sustained, honest, and rigorous work. Those that fail usually do not seek help at all or they find it in flashy branding and cookie-cutter personality assessments that promise quick results with little follow-through.

My Approach

I am an Executive Coach and Organizational Development Consultant who helps mission-driven leaders and their teams achieve extraordinary impact and equanimity in their professional and personal lives. Using a holistic, systems approach to understanding the whole person and the whole organization, I empower executives and their teams with new habits, structures, and processes that make their personal lives and their organizations more integrated, resilient, balanced, and productive. I draw on cutting-edge research and best practices in psychology, neuroscience, behavioral economics, organizational behavior, design thinking, and contemplative practices like mindfulness to help individuals and groups do three main things:

  1. Generate deep self-awareness, insight, understanding, and confidence
  2. Build compassionate self-management and conscious communication skills
  3. Inspire purposeful, courageous, focused, and efficient action

Arctic purpleThis allows leaders to operate at their best and to embody with authenticity and authority qualities of trust, stability, compassion, and hope. They are then able to transform confusion and chaos into clarity and control, pain and reactivity into power and responsibility, apathy and stagnation into motivation and excellence, and indecisiveness and conflict into innovation and cooperation. I stand side-by-side with leaders and their teams to unfold their full potential and, ultimately, transform bold vision into measurable impact, whether it be social good, the bottom line, or both.
